Beacon Cay is a small cay belonging to The Exumas. The island lies southeast of Nassau and according to the Lighthouse Directory (www.ibiblio.org/lighthouse) it was established in 1893. The lighthouse and the keepers cottage are disrepair, though the walls and foundation to their structures are still intact. The island is accessible by boat, and, with a little bit of gymnastics it is possible to leap from a dinghy onto a rough staircase cut into the rocks on the eastern side.
