The card this week invites you to find within yourself the place where your will, fire, meet with your emotional spring, water. The Queen of Wands invites you into the place where you can unite your instinct, your will to act, to your intuition, your emotional centre. The path to bring these two together is long and arduous. This week, with the Sun and Venus in Scorpio together with Mercury stationing retrograde, it is a great time to do this work. Delve into your fears, your longings, and regrets. Surface them, give them language of words or pictures, let them move through your body, and alchemize them into your vision. The deeper you go, the more honest you are about your shadow the more developed your instinct and intuition is. This is what makes the Queen of Wands so enigmatic.
Card: Queen of Wands
Description: Woman seated on throne, with a wand in her right hand and a sunflower in her left. There is a black cat in the foreground and both the cat and the Queen are making direct eye contact with the viewer.
Numbers: Unlike the rest of the deck, there are no number associations with the court cards. The courts represent people, or characteristics of personalities.
Elements: While the suit of wands are aligned with the element of fire, all the Queens are aligned with the element of water—so this is a Fire Water Card.
Symbols: Sunflowers, lions, and a black cat.
