Waxing of Pentacles
Description: Under a waxing moon a lone rider is dismounted from horseback to examine the ground. With the Lynx constellation suspended in the background we meet someone guided by meticulous movement. This is a tracker.
Meaning: Traditionally this card is the Knight of Pentacles, however, in my imagination the suit cards correspond to the phases of the moon. In the traditional deck the Knight of Pentacles is the only knight who is not charging forward. In this deck, the archetype of a slow rider is embodied in the tracker. In this archetype we learn to not mistake drive with movement. Some quests require us to slow down, attend to details, and make our way carefully through landscapes.
The moon is waxing–it is a rising energy, with more to give, and not yet in it’s full light. There will be more lessons and more growth to come.
Divinitory meaning: Pace yourself. Slow down and pay attention to the details. This is a marathon not a sprint. Find in yourself the stamina to complete the tasks you have taken on. Within you there is a tracker who is keen sighted, patient as a lynx and driven. This capacity may be of great service to you.
