Wow, my last blog was February?! It is impossible to catch you up on my art-life now, so let’s just dive in.
I am into week four of my undergraduate research award position, and have meant to blog about the whole thing. Who are we kidding though? I am not now, and will most likely never be someone who sits down at the end of the day and says, “Now to relax by writing…”
What a funny thought.
So instead I am going to let go of giving you words about my experience, and just post my photos. I think we will both be happier for that decision.
Just a few quick notes:
I am keeping track of my time as day/week. So today is 1/4, that is, the first day of the fourth week. Makes sense?
This is a 16 week position. In this position I will be assisting professor Grace Nickel in her research for an art show coming up in 2019. This will entail using lots of fun and interesting technology including CNC machines, 3D printers and other super-cool-slash-super-geeky things with clay. Yay.
On top of that I have also been given a studio space over the summer to work on creating my own body of work. Yessssssssss.
So here I am, blogging to you from my studio in Winnipeg as I dive into a summer of research.
