My professor warned me it would be a lot of work… “yea, yea” I thought.
I had no idea how much work. 20 hours into the project and I wasn’t even halfway done.
In total I have spent 30 hours on the piece (I got faster mixing paint, if you’re doing the math.) It measures 30″ x 40″ and I think it needs a name.
I finished most of it by 2am the morning it was due.
Of course, by “finished” I mean I presented it at critique and must now re-do some sections to present it as complete next week. 🙂
What I learned:
Colors make me happy.
Painting late is WAY better than writing late.
Don’t be deceived by the simplicity of something. Simple art can be time consuming–and totally worth the effort.
Also, use tape for line accuracy.
Oh, and I will only buy heavy body acrylic from now on.
