Drawing as a Physical Act: Cartwheels

Our first assignment in Drawing I explores how drawing is first and foremost a physical act.  We are to approach the assignment like a scientific experiment and complete a movement or a series of movements on paper (or anything…)

Broad, I know.

So, I thought I would explore how space affects movement. Specifically, how the parameters and confines of the space around the body would affect the movement of cartwheels.

I have come up with a “first draft.”

I was helpfully told to think about the title and the installation of the piece as a way of directing the viewer.

Apparently I could put cartwheel prints all over the building….

So tempting….
