An Evening of Literary Merriment

I found a beautiful copy of Shakespeare’s Tragedies printed by Random House in 1944.  Hard cover.  With block prints.

Beautiful.  A wonderful book for my collection.

Only, I did not get it for those reasons.

I picked it up because someone had written an invitation, rather unceremoniously, on bright yellow paper over the nice cover of the book.

I don’t know what all an evening of Literary Merriment entailed, but I immediately wanted to take part.

So I got the book.

So far I have been enjoyed the literary merriment the book has afforded me.
